Week 8: Spring Break

 

During my spring break, I spent more time with God. I decided to spend an hour max with my Lord every day, and if I exceeded that time it was up to me but if I was ready to be done it would be a hard stop. I read some verses from my Spanish Bible and also this little book my mother gave to me before coming down to Peoria for classes. After that I wrote in my lent notebook and fully allowed my thoughts to come to paper. It was a great hour. My mindset when creating this was to make it beautiful and fun. Why must we think of prayer or spending time with God to be punishment or in solemness? Time with God should be beautiful.

Post-Time: I found that my time and conversation spent with God allowed me to feel so light and airy afterward, rising above all the negative. I had this thought during my time with Him: if someone were to ask me "How can you believe in something that isn't in front of you?", to that I would respond "How can you NOT believe?". The mental and physical changes that follow in walking in Faith can do to a person is undeniable. I started my walk with the Lord a year ago, even though I was always surrounded by Him my entire life, due to my family. I truly took the Lord for the face value that He is and walked with Him. The person I am today is unrecognizable to the person I was a year ago. I had a friend who conveniently said "Show me the proof that God is real" and to him, I said, "I am the proof". I am the physical proof that God won't automatically make your life sunshine and rainbows, but will guide you into becoming the best version of yourself every single second of every single day while taking into consideration your environment and obstacles/opportunities. It is so convenient for us to deny what we cannot see but our eyes lie to us, always. God is Love. God is acceptance, willingness, and mercy. He is a girl's Dad. He is so loving that he ALLOWS evil to remain. People think that Love is weak and easy to destroy, but Love is the strongest thing and hardest to break. Love is one of the most powerful vibrational frequencies there is. To deny Love and faith is to deny science. To realize that it is all connected, will be the day you realize that hate and rage is nothing but a grain of sand. That good, honest, and loving rises above all.
